I'm going to miss out once again. This time, I have a good excuse! I'll be traveling to Barcelona to visit my friend dreamsewingmiko, who will be there as part of her continuing effort to keep Cirque du Soleil performers properly costumed.

That sounds like proper fun.

It should be. I loved Barcelona when I last visited and I was only there for a few days. And I didn't even explore the more modern, artistic parts of the city; had my head in the Roman and Medieval history.

Antoni Gaudí!

Eh? Colour me confused. What's an "Antoni Gaudí!"? And why should jbru want one?

one of the most astonishing architects ever.
Native active around the turn of the century a century ago, inspired in part by traditional Catalan stuff. Got big enough to begin the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, which will never be finished, since the plans were destroyed in the Revolution.
I once tried to describe his work to a friend as "acid architecture", but after going through a picture book, my friend replied, "no, mushrooms."

His work is one of the biggest reasons I want to visit Barcelona some day.

I think they will finish the Cathedral, since they are actively working on it. There's a huge amount going on there, in fact.

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I always end up leaving it too late and paying at the door. See you there...

You're quite welcome. Any time. Don't mention it. The more the merrier, eh? Yes, see you there. At least, one hopes one will see you there. Vootie!

We'll see you there. Wanna play some music?

Would love to play some music. Especially with you & if I get to hear you play some of your own as well. It might prove problematic, however, as I shall have to start practicing again soonest so I don't totally embarrass myself. I'm not even sure I remember which end of the guitar to hold.
