I think I got an email the other day from chasophonic saying that Riverfolk are going to be playing this coming weekend at … now see, that's one of my problems—most of the important information has fallen out of my wee little brain. I think it was a coffee shop…? In … was it Falcon Heights? For that matter, was it Friday or Saturday night? And time—surely they're starting at some specific time, but darned if I can remember what it was. Er, is. Um, will be, that is. Can anybody help me fill in some of these details?

I'll probably be rested after my Thanksgiving holidays off and won't have to be back at work until Sunday night so I might even be able to pry myself out of the house to see my old friends and playingmates. Perhaps Gavi and Susan might want to come along too, in which case I'd certainly bring them.

So. What say you? Somebody want to fill me in? Is to be thanking you in advance!

By the magic of the Interwebs, I divine the pertinent information to be:
The Coffee Grounds
8 pm Friday, November 24, 2006
1579 Hamline Avenue Falcon Heights, Minnesota
651-644-9959

Thanks for asking, because I hadn't heard and might be interested in going out by then too!

I am willing to accept all that information but the city. I don't care what those people say that's St. Paul. Falcon Heights is quite a ways west.

If you go you can marvel at my elementary school.:)

Falcon Heights it is.
This made me curious. I just checked the City of Falcon Heights web site. Their map shows that except for the St. Paul campus and the Fairgrounds, the southern border of Falcon Heights is Hoyt. The Coffee Grounds is just north of Hoyt on Hamline.

Re: Falcon Heights it is.
When I was growing up the boundary was not Hamline. I had friends from school on the other side of Hamline and they were still in St. Paul.

You can't trust those people in St. Paul.:)

Re: Falcon Heights it is.
Were they south of Hoyt? St. Paul extends west to the fairgrounds (Snelling) south of Hoyt.

Riverfolk list
Just checked the mailing list and was surprised that you aren't on it. When I did the first mailing a couple years ago, I added people who I thought would be interested in receiving news from us. Can't understand how I would not have included you.

Since then I have added only those who have requested inclusion. So with your permission, I will add you to the list.

The fly in my personal ointment is that Susan's brother, Stuart, is coming in to town for Thanksgiving from Champaign/Urbana by way of Chicago; the Chicago-to-Twin Cities leg of which journey will be undertaken on a certain train those in the know know well. If he makes his connection tomorrow, we'll all be having Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, as is traditional; if he doesn't, we'll be postponing the festivities until Friday. If the latter, I may be a bit late to the show overstuffed. If the former it will merely be the usual problem of dragging myself out of bed and getting myself to go out of the house for a non-work-related (and/or non-taking-Gavi-to-someplace-she-has-to-be) event.

In either event, Susan and Gavi have expressed interest as well, so if it happens at all it may turn out to be a package deal.

Here's hopping! Erm, hoping! Well, whatever…

Even more likely now!

Good news! Stuart made the Wednesday train, so there's an extra-good chance I'll be able to put on the bells and show up Friday. Wheeee!
