Train it is!

I've just bought my train ticket to Confusion:
• 28 Empire Builder/354 Wolverine from MSP to BMM via CHI, leave 7:35am 19-JAN-06 (Thursday)
• 351 Wolverine/7 Empire Builder from BMM to MSP via CHI, leave 6:53am 23-JAN-06 (Monday)

Now all's I gotta do is make a hotel reservation and buy my membership. And figure out some way to smuggle my guitar on board, since the case violates both their checked and carry-on luggage restrictions…

Anyone else entraining from MSP? Or joining us on the CHI-BMM leg? (I recommend the Business Class upgrade, btw.)

"...since the case violates both their checked and carry-on luggage restrictions..."

Oh, boy. That sounds like fun.

Luckily, you don't look like a terrorist. No, wait....

Hmm. Would shipping the case as freight take care of the restrictions? (Though, of course, there'd be additional costs for that.)

I have this week of vacation to use up before Jan. 31 ... maybe I should consider Confusion....

It's an interesting thought. They do say they can accommodate musical instruments for something like a $5 fee—perhaps I should simply point out that it is, in fact, a musical instrument.

… maybe I should consider Confusion….
But … but … if we were both on vacation from work for a long weekend … why … the company would probably fall to pieces; I mean, what would they do without us?

So the train route between MSP and BMM goes via CHI? This amuses me as every time I flew to MSP it ended up being via CHI. Am beginning to wonder if MSP isn't actually in an alternate dimension only accessible via CHI. That would explain the dodos.

Hey! Who are you calling a dodo?!

The train has to go through Chicago because Lake Michigan is in the way.

Boy, train stuff is really different in the US. One of the reasons I love taking the train here in the UK is the complete lack of hassle about baggage. You bring it on board, you park it, and you take it with you when you go.

Glad you're coming! Do spend the $5 for a musical instrument.

I was just looking at that great picture you took of Laura and me, she called my attention to it awhile ago, and I just decided I want to print a copy for my grandmother. Can you give me a hi-res version? I already told you about the pictures I took of you that evening, right?

Yup, you done tol' me. Thanks!

Thumbnail You mean this one?

I tried to clean it up a bit, although I appear to be rusty at Photoshop.

Here's a link to the HiRez version in my LJ Gallery (for now)
