A funny thing happened to me on the way to ConFusion....

“I have an idea!” I said. “I’ll take the train to ConFusion,” I said. “I’ll be able to get up and walk around,” I said. “It will be fun!”

“I am a clever boy,” I thought as I made my reservations and bought my tickets. Minneapolis to Detroit with a transfer in Chicago. Leave Minneapolis after work around 7am, arrive in Detroit just after midnight—I'll be able to relax and read on the train, walk around, maybe even catch some sleep. Most satisfactory.

So what the Sam Hill was I doing on a full, mother-loving bus to, of all places, Milwaukee, singing “The wheels on the bus go ’round and ’round…” with seven of my equally-crazed friends? That’s what I want to know …

I think we all want to know that. I offer as evidence that the states the Empire Builder comes through on its way into Mpls are all "red" states. That may Mean Something.

You were just being you, in typical fashion. What else?

Bus Ride
I refuse to believe that you just wanted an excuse to sing that song . . .

This reads to me like the opening lines of a really interesting fanzine article.

(Was a great pleasure to hear you play once again, by the way!)

Ah, well. Once the bus bit was over it was really not too bad. And at least we didn't have to resort to cannibalism waiting for the train on the way back.

Well, however it happened, I'm glad you made it! It was a pleasure to meet you.
