To go or not to go....

John Kerry will be in town later today, and I'm trying to decide whether to attend the rally. On one hand, it'll be next to the Metrodome so we could take the Banana instead of driving/parking. And judging from what minnehaha K said in her LJ, the tickets we got from a friend (not M'haha K) are slightly better than "print 'em out yourself from the web" tickets.

On the other hand, "admission" begins at 4:30 pm so I'd have to get up way lots earlier than usual. *yawn* Plus, I hate crowds.

On another hand, I've been very depressed/worried of late because of how awful it would be for the U.S. (and the rest of the world!) if Bush and his cronies managed to win or steal the election this time—maybe a good rally would be just the thing to cheer me up…

I'm planning on sleeping from 8:00 to 3:00-ish and then maybe catching a nap after dinner, depending. I've been building up a cautious optimism about the campaign based on my perception that the Bush campaign appears to have become completely reactionary. That is, they are spending more time defending themselves then spouting their message. To me, this sounds a bit desperate and like they've run out of schemes. While that's likely to be untrue, it may be enough to sway undecided voters.
