Happy birthday!

Happy Birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

To supergee

AND to whomever it was (rmjwell?) who was on my "My LJ" birthdays list the last time I checked in but wasn't there today—I'm very sorry about that. It's been busy and foggy out for the past couple of. So a very happy, even if belated, birthday greeting to you!*

*I'm a bit sloppy about remembering others' birthdays (partly 'cause I'm less than worried about whether people remember mine) so I normally wouldn't make such a big deal out of wishing someone a belated one but I'd noticed that the birthday of somebody I think is especially terrific was coming up, and I wanted to make a point of remembering it and then it got away from me. Is all. Sorry 'bout that.

So, a question for all you Latin scholars out there. What would be good Latin for the famous phrase: "Garbage in, garbage out"? Is it satisfactorily obfuscatory and formal, or is it just too obvious? (I'm thinking of designing a coat-of-arms for the company I work for, and that would be a good motto for the scroll underneath. I imagine at least one of the devices [is that what they're called?] would be a flying pig…)
