Weekend update

It seems as if every time I fire up the ol' browser of late I find myself irresistibly attracted to The Huffington Post where I read all the political news and posts until I weary of sitting at the computer and wander off to do something else entirely. Even though I should be sending Facebook "greeting cards" and keeping up with my LJ friends and even writing the occasional LJ post.

It's a sickness. It will pass soon. Probably in about a week and a half…

Oh lordy, do I know what you mean. I get a daily update from Huffpost during the week, and find myself glad that I haven't got it set for the weekend. And, yeah, about a week and a half ought to do it - at least until the next session of Congress.

Yeah, that hits me from time to time as well. :/ I tend to counter it by playing Scrabble on Pogo.com to get it off my mind and lift my mood when I read something involving vast stupidity.

I'm a sucker for it, too. I especially love the overblown, looks-like-yellow-journalism headlines, like "PALIN: RUNS! STOCK'S DROP!" (Sarah got a hole in her pantyhose, bad enough to cause them to fall to her ankles. Yeah,I made that up.)
