A Photo from AppleCon 2008

As I get more of these post-processed, Iʼll put them up. Eventually Iʼll give the conventionʼs webmaster the link to the album. All in good time, all in good time.

I think this is my favorite of ALL the photos you've posted. So intense!

Wow! Thanks!

Great shot -- I usually see photographs of violinists taken from the other side. But by doing so from this side, you draw the entire interest of the viewer toward her face, rather than her bowing hand or fingering hand as would be the case otherwise. Making a tight shot helps that, too.

Thanks! Golly gosh gee whiz. Hadnʼt thought of that, at least not consciously. It was just where I was sitting and where she was sitting. But now that you mention it, highlighting her face is indeed a big part of why Iʼm very fond of it. And nice to get validation for the tight crop too—Iʼd finished color correcting and was getting ready to move on when I realized that it would work so much better if cropped like this.

You know, Matthew, you may be, as you say, "The worldʼs worst photographer"—I couldnʼt say—but I truly am enjoying your observations and comments about my photos. Theyʼve been interesting, insightful, and perceptive.

Lovely. Good use of depth of field and I love the rich color of the violin.

What you said. Pretty lady, pretty violin.

I, of course, like this a LOT. :)

Really? Whoʼdʼve thunk? Me too, actually. (BTW, is this J or A?)
