The Experimental Series Marches On

Here’s another recent photo in my Experimental Series. You'll note that the series’ name above (or to the left, as the case may be) is also a convenient link to the folder containing all of them. It’s a bit skimpy right now, but promises to continue growing in the near future. And, as always, clicking on the photo itself will take you to a larger version of it; if you don’t mind me saying so, it’s well worth doing.

Hmm. Can't say as I like this one, but I think i can see what you were trying to do. It has an abstract, almost impressionist feel to it.

Have you given any thought to finding a gallery space to show these?

ʼsokay. You donʼt hafta like all of them you know…

Yes, I occasionally think about hanging them and about galleries and the like. One of the things that held me back in the past was the expense of framing, and my bewilderment and indecision about what would constitute a good matte and frame, and whether to treat each one separately or to make one choice for the lot of them or … who knows what. One of the things that is holding me back these days is all of that, plus the fact that while they were shot on film, the "final," presentation images are digital and heaven knows how they would print. Or whether to print them or start over from the negative. Or who knows what.

But I am thinking that I may have to hit these questions harder and address them once Iʼve built up a larger "stock" of recent photos I'm fond of.

I like it -- rather reminds me of a watercolor by Turner, whose work I like quite a bit.

Thanks! Turner, eh? I guess I'll have to go check (him? her?) out.
