Work and sleep and first shift

Apparently my body is less thrilled about my [temporary] change to first shift than the rest of the family. I had a cold, or, in any case, sore throat and copiously-running nose that kept me out of work Wednesday and Thursday of last week, and this morning I found I just couldn't seem to wake up (in fact, I'm still feeling a bit logy, even though I finally hauled myself out of bed a little while ago; not to mention that my throat still feels a bit … odd). That's one heck of a way to impress the folks on first shift with your all-around wonderfulness, Fred. Way to go.

Awww, I'm sorry that you feel crappy.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm allergic to something that's coming out now. For the past few days I've woken up with a nose-tickle that erupts into sneezing fits. It turns into a half-running nose snorty burning snot feeling, and I sound like a plague ward for the first hour I'm awake.

So it isn't just you!!

Get better, Fred... You haven't been first shift in a while, as you say. Give yourself more time, take it easy, and don't blame yourself.

It's been awful down here too. Several weeks of windy days, blowing dust into sinuses, bleah.

When I got miserable from weather and allergies combined, I used to want a climate-controlled dome. Now I'd settle for a spacesuit.

Thinking about you, Fred.
