Finding unseen messages

I'm in the process of switching my email handling over from Eudora to Apple's Mail program, and I was intrigued to discover that when Mail is checking to see if there's anything new on the mailserver, its Activity Viewer (when I choose to have it open) first displays: "Finding unseen messages." I really enjoy feeling that soon—very soon—Ancient Eldritch Knowledge in the form of Messages from the Unseen will be Imparted unto me.

How easy was it for you to transfer your existing mailboxes from Euroda to Apple's mail program?

The Apple import program doesn't do the best job in the world, but there's this guy, Andreas Amann (homepage.mac.com/aamann), who's written a donation-ware program that is very spiffy, very painless, and quite good at doing the job as one would want it done.
